Test-bench for gas analyzers

Test-bench for gas analyzers

A test-bench has been developped for gas analyzers within the network "RMT animal farms and environnement" and the ADEME project AFEEP. This tool can help to check that two analyzers give similar concentrations on a range of gas mixtures and that the calibration drift has been negligible during an experiment.

The test-bench can produce gas mixtures with certified concentrations of NH3, CH4, CO2 and N2O. These mixtures can be analyzed by one or two gas analyzers to check whether the observed concentrations are similar or far from the chosen concentrations.A range of concentrations can be tested within a few hours and the effect of some interferences can also be checked.

Within the network "RMT Animal Farms and Environment", several partners use infra-red photoaccoustic analyzer (IR PAS; INNOVA 1312/14). The test-bench helps to make sure of the accuracy of equipment before an experiment, to check that the calibration carried out by INNOVA is in agreement with the values which can be observed in the field. This tool also makes easier and more reliable the exchange of analyzers between partners (in the event of multisite breakdown or of follow-up).
